Meet Dr. Rodney Soto, one of our primary wellness specialists at the New Biology Clinic
With more than 30 years of medical experience, including over 18 years in functional and holistic medicine, Dr. Soto has a passion for employing alternative approaches to discover and treat the root causes of non-optimum health conditions. A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Soto is passionate about helping people facing cognitive decline and neurodegenerative symptoms.
Dr. Soto truly believes in the whole-body approach to achieving optimum health and wellness and that, with proper guidance, we can take control over our health and biology.
Born in Ecuador, Dr. Soto moved to the United States in 1989 after the completion of medical school, where he trained in internal medicine at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens in New York City. He then performed three years of residency training in neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He completed two additional years of fellowship training in vascular and critical care neurology at the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is board-certified in neurology and specializes in the treatment and prevention of cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative conditions.
His particular interest is in the prevention and treatment of cognitive decline and disorders of the nervous system, including dis-eases commonly referred to as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, ALS, multiple sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative conditions.
He encourages at-risk people or those presenting milder, early-stage symptoms to take a preemptive approach to addressing their health concerns. Left unaddressed, such symptoms can develop into more serious and often preventable neurological illnesses.
On the personal side, Dr. Soto is married to his wonderful wife Elisabeth, and they currently live in Montgomery, Alabama with their two children, Kaleigh and Walker.
Their lifestyle involves a combination of working and educating their children, as well as enjoying leisure time in nature around their home on Lake Martin.
