You asked, we answered

Here you’ll find answers to common questions about the New Biology Clinic. Whether you’re curious about our appointment process, our membership options, or just have general questions about how the clinic works, we’ve got you covered.

Frequently asked questions

We understand why you would want to ask in advance whether our wellness specialists can help you with specific health conditions or concerns.

However, we find this is not the type of question either we or our team can answer in advance of an initial consultation, because of the New Biology principles of health, what makes people feel sick. and how people become well again.

In New Biology, a diagnosis does not necessarily determine an intervention. In conventional medicine, multiple people are given the same diagnosis, based on certain “symptoms” that may be viewed as common to that diagnosis. However, New Biology principles acknowledge that various symptoms often have entirely different causes, suggesting a variety of changes to lifestyle, diet and other factors that the person might need to make to feel well again.

So, it is the person’s own individual story that is most important in determining how a health consultation may be helpful. Telling your story to a wellness specialist is what would happen in session, and then you and your wellness specialist would look at the story together to determine possible causes and workable interventions. This is why we cannot present our specialists with a diagnosis or condition to which you may have been assigned in the past, along with the question, “can you help?”

Another key component of the healing process is a person’s willingness and ability to implement suggested lifestyle changes that will aid in their healing journey. Often, the suggestions are very simple and accessible, but require dedication and consistency. Additionally, any potential interventions you discuss with your wellness specialist should be thoroughly reviewed with your healthcare practitioner before you decide to implement them.

The New Biology Clinic staff is not trained to triage health emergencies, nor do we provide medical services. If you need those types of services, please seek immediate help at your local hospital or walk-in urgent care clinic or dial 911. Your immediate health and well-being are our primary concern.

At this time, our services are all virtual, allowing us to work with people from the comfort of their own homes, or wherever they may be.  If you are traveling, our Primary Wellness Specialists can meet with you over the phone.

Everyone on the same family plan works with the same Primary Wellness Specialist.  If someone in your family would like to work with a separate Primary Wellness Specialist, they may do so if they purchase an Individual Plan.

Your dashboard operates on the credit system. When you view your “Appointments”you will see the credits available to you, and when you register for an individual or group session, one credit is automatically “deducted.” Other than the initial 55-minute consultation, the credits replenish each month, so you should always have enough to participate.

On a few occasions, people have found that their credits are not replenishing each month—if this is the case, please reach out to the Care Team, and we will manually ensure you have enough credits for all activities included in your membership package.

Yes, if you wish to upgrade to a Small or Large Family Membership, please reach out to our Care Team to make the arrangements.

Depending on how much time has passed between your one-time consult and your upgrade to a membership, you may be eligible for a discount on your membership activation fee. Please contact the Care team to review your upgrade options and see whether a discount can be applied.

Family Memberships are intended for family members that live in the same household. Dependent adult children in college (aged 25 and younger) may be included in the membership.

Dependents are defined as children ages 25 or below and disabled adults claimed as tax dependents in the same household. If your dependent child turns 26 during the membership year, he/she will be considered an adult and will fall under the 2-adult maximum for family membership upon the next month’s renewal date.

The Primary Wellness Specialists at the New Biology Clinic do not order tests or labs, so if you need them, you would have them ordered through your healthcare practitioner or a private lab.

The Primary Wellness Specialists at the New Biology Clinic do not provide documentation for exemptions or tax purposes.

You will choose one Primary Wellness Specialist and work with that person regarding all your health and wellness concerns. Our Primary Wellness Specialists serve as generalists in the New Biology Clinic, and all have access to each other if they need to consult together regarding a member.

If you do reach a point where you have a strong reason to talk with one of the other specialists, please reach out to your Primary Wellness Specialist to discuss. Because this model of working with people is so relationship-based, changing to a new Primary Wellness Specialist truly is like starting over from the beginning.

The amount and frequency of follow-up consultations are determined between you and your Primary Wellness Specialist based on your specific needs. For example, your Primary Wellness Specialist may advise you to try some suggestions and come back to discuss them in two weeks or three months, depending upon your individual story. If something comes up for you in the meantime, you are welcome to go ahead and book an extra follow-up.

*On certain rare occasions, if someone needs more regular contact than the general membership allows, your Primary Wellness Specialist may suggest an add-on to your membership plan, for an additional cost, that allows for more frequent appointments and priority booking. These add-ons are rarely needed and are typically implemented for a specific time period determined by you and your specialist.

Because the membership has access to be able to schedule their own appointments, the schedule and wait times can vary. We make every attempt to get people in with their Primary Wellness Specialist within a month of their first payment. If you join and are not able to find a suitable appointment, please contact the Care Team so that we may assist.

If you need to know about our schedule prior to purchasing a membership or One-Time Consultation, please phone us at 888-291-7644. We will look over the availability with you, and if there is a mutually satisfying time available, we can put a 24 hour hold on an appointment if you are ready to book (appointments can only be finalized when the membership or consultation has been purchased and initial paperwork completed).

What you are seeing is an unfortunate limitation of the software. Our intention is for all members to be able to attend any Enrichment Group Sessions that are offered. We don’t have a simple way of updating the number of credits that people get each month after a package is purchased, so we have “overestimated” the amount of credits each account gets each month. This way, if the group leader ever adds additional sessions in a month, everyone is already set with the credits needed to attend.

Our Primary Wellness Specialist, Dr. Rodney Soto, speaks fluent Spanish and Dr. Tatiana Agafornova, one of our Enrichment Services Specialists, speaks Russian. If you speak a language other than English or Spanish, we can format your consultation as a group meeting, where you could invite someone to translate for you.

We can provide Closed Captioning during the video calls, for those with hearing impairments.

We recommend you speak with your Primary Wellness Specialist and together, if more acute care is needed, we can offer you a special add-on package for an additional fee.
