Meet Monica Corrado, one of our enrichment services specialists at the New Biology Clinic

Monica has spent more than 20 years illuminating the connection between real food and vibrant health. As a teaching chef, consultant, author, and speaker, she provides individuals with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to take an active role in their health by cooking nourishing, traditional food.

For the New Biology Clinic, Monica provides free group sessions on nutrition and cooking for our members; she is also available for personalized one-on-one nutrition consults for members (at a discounted rate) and non-members.

Monica has been a member of the Honorary Board of the Weston A. Price Foundation since its inception, and her teaching and consulting is informed by her understanding of the principles of traditional diets and traditional cooking techniques.

She has held faculty positions teaching traditional cooking at the graduate level at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and started her own Cooking for Well-Being Teacher Training program in 2012, with graduates all over the globe from Mexico to Hong Kong to Canada and throughout the United States.

Prior to teaching food as medicine, Monica spent 18 years in sustainable food sourcing and preparation, menu design and management, and owned her own organic and biodynamic catering company in Washington, DC.
For the past 15 years, Monica’s work has focused on the Gut-Brain Connection, and as “The GAPS Chef” she is a recognized expert on how to cook to heal a leaky gut and the symptoms it causes. As lead cooking techniques teacher for Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride’s GAPS Training programs, she teaches Certified GAPS Practitioners and Coaches how to cook for the GAPS Nutritional Protocol.

Monica knows that real food prepared with traditional cooking techniques can provide a foundation for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. When consulting on nutrition, she brings her knowledge and understanding of the power of nourishing food to address symptoms showing up as dis-ease, imbalance, or other disturbance in the body.

Her background in vibrational healing modalities and practiced intuition allow her to craft individualized healing protocols for her clients during consultations.

Monica is the author of seven books which teach traditional cooking techniques.

Her most recent publication is the second edition of The Complete Cooking Techniques for the GAPS Diet, published by Selene River Press, which is now available in French and Italian (Spanish and German coming soon).
